After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Texas Wesleyan University in 1991 with a B.B.A. in Accounting, Jerry Walker worked for the international accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand. He served as a financial statement auditor, an information systems auditor, and computer consultant. During his tenure with C&L, he received his license as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Information Systems Auditor. Later, he served as a tax preparer and computer consultant for a local accounting firm. In 1996 he started his own firm to provide solutions for small businesses and tax preparation for individuals. Since 2010, Jerry has been designing and refining the FirmTamer practice management software to meet the needs of his own firm. Along with Kevin Chessher, he co-founded FirmTamer to begin offering it to other firms in 2021.

About Us:

FirmTamer was founded over 25 years ago by a CPA who recognized the challenges of growing an accounting firm. After years of experience, it became clear that while the accounting work itself was not the real challenge - running the business and managing its growth was.

This in-house time and billing software was born out of that struggle to better manage the firm. It later evolved into a hub for the firm's operations, helping to prioritize tasks, capture billable time, streamline invoicing, and better evaluate staff performance.

Today, FirmTamer is adapting this software into a cloud-based solution to help other CPA firms manage their growth.
